8 Months

Another month in the books....is it just me or do these monthly updates seem to be getting closer and closer together?? Olivia is now 8 months old and changing more and more from a baby to a toddler everyday. She is growing more independent with each passing day. Things around here are getting more and more exciting with her being able to show us what she likes and dislikes. She has finally become a really giggly, smiley girl.

She loves to scream and "talk". She is still at the age where everything she touches goes into her mouth but she is starting to eat things less and play with them more. She has finally grasped the concept of a rattle and knows that if she shakes it really hard it makes lots of noise (and gives mommy a headache!). She smacks at everything she touches to see what kind of sound she can get out of it.

Olivia has 4 teeth now!! Her other top tooth popped out over the weekend. She looks so cute with her little teeth but man oh man does it hurt when she bites. She bit herself the other day and made herself cry. She is also starting to give kisses. Big, sloppy, slobbery kisses but we love them. She is also very generous with her kisses and will kiss anyone who sticks out their lips to her.....I'm sure Cam will put a stop to that before she gets too many boyfriends!

In the last week or so, Olivia has begun to pull herself up to standing. She does it in her crib all the time but is still learning her limits and is very leary to do it too much anywhere else. She still loves to stand and walk and I truly believe she will never crawl. She still pulls herself around but if she can be walked somewhere she will and I rarely see her get up on her knees. She may be like her Grandpa Larry and start walking at 10 months.....how scary would that be??

Last summer, Cam and I couldn't wait for this summer so we could hang out with Olivia at the lake, go camping and hang out in the backyard. It's hard to believe that it's already here. We went to Echo Dale this weekend but they have not filled up the swimming area yet, so we went to the petting zoo instead. Olivia likes animals and got to pet calves, lambs and the tiniest baby bunny I had ever seen. She was surprisingly gentle with it. I was disappointed there weren't any baby pigs yet but holy crap the sow was huge!! Seriously, biggest pig I have ever seen! We bought a pool for Olivia and she has gone swimming a couple times and only a few times did she try and put her face in the water. Olivia even has a little bit of a tan! She even has tan lines in her thigh rolls!
